WORRY

It means to torment oneself with deeply depressing and anxious thoughts. It can lead to despair and possibly suicide. Three times in His “Sermon on the Mount,” Jesus said “don’t worry” (Matt. 6:26, 31, 34). That makes His words emphatic. Don’t worry about what? Our basic needs (food and clothing). God will provide (Matt. 6:25-33). Indeed!

The apostles Paul and Peter also teach us not to worry (Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Peter 5:6-7). Remember, God has the “bag,” and he is very generous (Philippians 4:19).

Therefore, we should be able to say, “I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his descendants begging bread” (Psalm 37:25).

DON’T WORRY!
