World peace, or peace on Earth, is the concept of an ideal state of happiness, freedom, and peace within and among all people and nations on Planet Earth. This idea of world nonviolence is one motivation for people and nations to willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance that has this objective. Different cultures, religions, philosophies, and organizations have varying concepts on how such a state would come about.
Efforts for World Peace
The League of Nations (1919, [UNITED NATIONS 1945]). The League of Nations was an international diplomatic group developed after World War I as a way to solve disputes between countries before they erupted into open warfare. Name changed because it was believed that “Because the nations were all united in some way”
UNITED NATIONS The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization responsible for maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations, achieving international cooperation, and being a center for harmonizing the actions of nations. WARS Since WW1 Since the end of World War 1 there have been over 260 major wars in the world. In the United States, the nation has fought one declared war and many other military actions.
