Votes For God Are Worthless

There was a brother very glad over the impeachment of President Trump. My response: Actually, I sense God’s hand working behind the scenes in a particular way. Human attitudes and actions determine the outcome God will bring to pass on this country. My mind goes to Psalm 50:1-6, 14-23. Basically, it tells me God is in control and will “call the final shots.” Some secular intellectuals may say, “Who voted for God?” Well, since He is omnipotent and eternal, votes are worthless (Rom. 11:33). Isn’t the Holy Spirit through the Scripture telling us what our attitude and actions should be? Is there a guarantee that a replacement for the president would be unanimously approved? If not, should the replacement also be impeached? How far do we want to go with these attitudes and actions? Will concrete evidence be used to justify impeachment? What about undesirable (subject to various opinions) pastors, educators, CEO’s, etc.? Is impeachment the answer? Taken to its extreme, total chaos will be the result. That seems to be where we’re headed. Unfortunately, the church in America is so watered down that its influence is ineffective. The Great Commission is meaningless to many. That’s more disgusting and painful to my spirit than what’s happening in my country.

Blessings!
