Unbelief is Powerful

Two things I keep in mind when I hear people say things that are unbiblical: 1. Unbelief is powerful in that it blinds people from facing reality. They see only with their deceived and wicked imagination rather than by acknowledging the truth.

2. The lie of Satan is powerfully influential. Since Eve as a sinless person still received Satan’s lie (“Thou shalt not die), how much more people will believe his lie after the Fall. People in unbelief don’t realize the danger of it. They are opened to God’s judgment: “For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false” (2 Thessalonians 2:11). As long as they are alive, there’s still hope that they might believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus gave the following warning: “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24). That applies today as much as it did during Jesus’ time on earth. Believers can’t make people believe the truth. We can only tell them the truth about God, and the Holy Spirit will take it from there.

Blessings!
