True Believers Aligning With the Social Justice Ideology

On page 6 in Voddie Baucham’s book, “Fault Lines,” there is a section

regarding the Critical Social Justice (CSJ) view and the biblical justice view on page 6. As I understand Baucham, he wants to avoid making an umbrella accusation that all CSJ proponents oppose justice. Some are sincere but very misled. On the other hand, evangelicals are painted “as opposed to God Himself,” since the social justice warriors make social justice a “Gospel issue.” Biblically minded evangelicals strongly believe in justice (see page 237 in “Fault Lines”). The problem is that many evangelicals, blinded by postmodern ideology, have jumped on the bandwagon of the CSJ/SJW, mingling the true gospel with worldly solutions and objectives rather than focusing on the Great Commission to evangelize the lost and disciple the saved. They are violating it and Paul’s injunction to “See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ” (Colossians 2:8). That makes it very difficult to distinguish false teachers from true ones.

Blessings!
