The Word of God Over Anti-biblical Ideologies

I was reading in Matt. 15:1-9 this morning. Jesus' said to the scribes and Pharisees, "Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?" (Matthew 15:3). It brings to my mind a parallel with contemporary ideologies such as CRT/BLM. They are like the “traditions” which are unbiblical and yet many, including professing Christians, prefer to embrace them. Nowhere in these ideologies are the teachings of God’s love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness, and reconciliation. Sin is regarded as a social problem rather than a heart problem. Jesus said, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies” (Matthew 15:19).

Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings” (Jeremiah 17:9-10). Unbiblical ideologies will never solve the sin problem, but the blood of Jesus always does - “how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14). A choice must be made. Jesus said, “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad” (Matthew 12:30). In other words, being against Jesus is opting for the broadway “that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat”

(Matthew 7:13). A choice must be made. Joshua said, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). There’s no middle ground. Will you submit to “traditions of men” or the “commandments of God?” Jesus said they are the following: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40). A choice must be made, even now.

Blessings!
