The Spirit of Baal is Still Around

A brother texted: “I’ve never thought about this before. The correlation between the prophets of Baal and Catholicism. But it looks exactly the same.”

My response:

“While Baal is an ancient false god, the demonic spirit impersonating him is still roaming the world and, unfortunately, has been influencing Israel in OT times and the church since its early stage of existence, starting with Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5, the Church of Corinth, and the churches mentioned in Revelation 2 and 3 except Smyrna and Philadelphia, all before the end of the first century. Things got worse during the reign of Constantine “the Great” (AD 306-337). He (the Roman government) acted as head of the church and unfortunately was supported by church leaders. When Rome fell in AD 476, the worldly church filled the vacuum of governmental power and eventually evolved into the Roman Catholic Church. The spirit on Baal intimately aligned with the church, and its OT beliefs and practices pervaded every nook and cranny. That’s why God sparked a Protestant Reformation with that “fire ball,” Martin Luther. Baal is still around. The need for more like Martin Luther is greater than ever.”

Blessings!
