The Good Thing About Trials

I sent the following to a brother who is experiencing some trials:

“God has a good purpose for you in spite of your situation at work. I can empathize with you which gives me cause to believe that God is “refining your gold.” That is, God is proving the durability and quality of your faith. The Apostle Peter wrote, “In this, you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ”

(1 Peter 1:6-7). It always seems that the Lord allows too much pressure on us and too much time before we’re delivered. So, be encouraged, my brother, and “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” (James 1:2-4). That’s the good thing about trials. Praise Him for His sovereignty, presence, protection, provision, promises, and, yes, His imminent coming.” I hope that helps you if you’re experiencing trials. Blessings!
