The Believer’s Ultimate Hope

A dear brother texted the following to me:

“From Fox News - Man arrested while citing Bible verse in protest of Pride event, then video evidence sinks case.

This is a continuation of an earlier story of a pastor being arrested. Not looking good for Sgt. or the city he works for.”

My response:

Good morning (my brother), Thanks for the information. God's word tells us, "Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body" (Heb. 13:3).

I wish I could be more positive, but I don't expect things in our country to improv. We seem to be at the point of no return like in the days of the wicked King Manasseh (2 Kings 21:1-18; 23:26-27; 24:3-4). I agree with other god-fearing pastors that our nation is manifestly under God's wrath as described in Rom. 1:18-32.

While our righteous living will bring to us persecution (2 Tim. 3:23), we need to be "looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works" (Titus 2:13-14). That, not church leaders, national leaders, nor so-called revivals, is our ultimate hope.

Blessings!

PS - I must add that my heart is broken over corrupt churches, cowardly Christian leaders, and degenerate PROFESSING Christians. All of these comfortable ones compromise all moral and ethical standards. It’s so sad!
