Same-sex Weddings

My daughter Carmen’s Question on Homosexual weddings: Should Christians attend such weddings?

“So, your presence (at a same-sex wedding) is condoning.” My answer: “Yes! Attending a same-sex wedding will also be taken as approval. In fact, the advocates of such don’t want to see it any other way. They’re insisting that their opponents agree with them and some are pushing for laws to criminalize them. Not attending is the same as taking a stand for the Lord whom we are supposed to love more than anybody. We don’t hate the same-sex advocates, but neither should we let our emotions (love for them) override our rationale. John 3:16 is meant for them too, but they must repent and believe that Jesus died for their sins and arose from the dead. That’s what makes a person a true believer, who also complies with Romans 12:1-2, which says, “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:1-2).

So, who do we love the most, God and His holy ways or our fellow man and his unholy ways?”

Blessings!
