Rightly Understanding John 7:38-39

A dear brother texted the following:

“John 7:38 Yahoshuah said: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Does the living spring or fountain that is listed in the definition mean that some will choose to replace Yahoshuah’s promise of eternal life by faith with Lucifer's offer of eternal life through his AI?”

“Jahoshuah” is Jesus’ name in Hebrew. “AI” is “Artificial Intelligence.” As best as I could understand his question, my response was the following:

“Good afternoon (Brother), I never thought of that, but I don’t think John 7:38-39 applies here. Two things to consider:

1. True believers never even consider “replacing” eternal life with whatever Satan has to offer. Our salvation is very secured and precious (1 Peter 1:3-9).

2. Unbelievers will, are, and will be predisposed to accept Satan’s lies because their constant rejection of God’s truth has heartened their hearts (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). The parallel thought of John 7:38-39 is found in Ephesians 1:13-14.”
