Responding to God in Worship

I like the idea of responding to God in worship. To me, it blends with the words, "Through Him then, let’s continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips praising His name" (Hebrews 13:15).

That response of true worship of God helps us to continue "looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God"

(Hebrews 12:2). Such focus and resultant worship of our Lord give us confidence in the present, regardless of past hardships, and toward the future, regardless of contemporary global turmoil. Since Jesus is always with us - “I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you” (John 14:18) - we should always acknowledge His presence and “worship Him in spirit and truth” (John 4:24).

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we should be expecting and looking forward to the fulfillment of His words, "if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be" (John 14:3). When that day comes, may our Lord find us "looking only at Jesus" and "continually (offering) up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips praising His name" (Hebrews 13:15).

Amen.

Blessings!
