I believe the stage is being set for the fulfillment of prophecy.
A friend texted me, saying he believes the 3rd Jewish temple will be built by the antichrist. As you know, the 1st one was built by King Solomon and the 2nd one by Zerrubabel, which was elaborately remodeled by Herod. It was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70 and never replaced. The Dome of the Rock was built on the sight by an Islamic caliph between AD 685-691 and still there.
My response:
“Good morning Mark, That’s very interesting…as it relates to end-time prophecy. The antichrist, though, would have to be anti-Islamic if the Dome of the Rock is to be destroyed or removed. His covenant with the Jews (Dan. 9:27) will most likely include building the 3rd temple. I believe at that time the Jewish people will still be anti-Messianic until the antichrist shows his true colors (2 Thess. 2:3-4). Then, all hell will break loose (Matt. 24:15-22). This is called “Jacob’s distress” (Jer. 30:7) which Yahweh will use to get the Jews as a nation to turn back to Him. We may not agree on this, but I believe we agree that eventually Yahweh will bring the Jews back to Himself.
He used the church age to bring Jews and mostly Gentiles to Jesus Christ (Rom. 11:25-28). That’s my 2 cents.”
