Pray for the Peace of Israel

In San Antonio, many prayers are being lifted to Adonai on behalf of Israel and the Palestinians. We certainly pray for protection for our Messianic brothers and sisters (saved Jews) and also for all Palestinians who believe in Yeshua HaMessiah (Jesus, the Christ). We also pray that Adonai (the Lord) would open the eyes of all unbelievers on both sides so that they may trust in Yeshua (Jesus) who died for them and rose again. We also pray for wisdom for Israel’s leaders in government, especially Netanyahu and his military leaders, to be strong in their resolve to defend themselves against their enemies. I hope our government will also stand with Israel. Why not? I read about France and even Germany being supportive. I believe God will hold our country responsible if we neglect Israel, according to Matthew 25:41-46.

Of course, our country, especially its churches, also needs much prayer. Our spiritual deadness is partly a result of our neglect to strongly support Israel. It’s certainly not a way for us to get victory over our enemies. It is not in vain that Scripture says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you” (Psalm 122:6). Understandably, Israel as a nation must turn to the Lord Jesus Christ to be spiritually saved. One day they will (Rom. 11:25-26).
