The existence of evil is denied by many intellectuals of all stripes. If evil doesn't exist, then only good does. But, that's not reality because evil is evident everywhere.
While good and evil coexist, good is eternal, thus preceding and overpowering evil. For good (God) eternally existed before evil (Satan). While the good makes life meaningful, evil makes life miserable.
But, denying evil is preferring to believe in falsehoods and to use imagination to conjure up a make-believe world with make-believe gods who creates make-believe happiness (called “virtual reality” which is really no reality). The Christian worldview believes "the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the TRUTH in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without EXCUSE”(Romans 1:18-20).
If evil were nonexistent, then it would have been unecessary for Jesus to die for humanity’s sin. The truth is that humanity is evil and every man needs Jesus Christ as his Savior (Rom. 3:21-26).
