My text to a sister who strongly dislikes white people:

My text to a sister who strongly dislikes white people:

“…my heart aches when I sense strong animosity coming from your expressions, not toward me but white people. I'm not asking you to overlook past hatred of whites toward blacks, including your ancestors. But, God is commanding you to forgive and love others of all ethnic groups, including bigoted white folks as you do bigoted black folks. All those scriptures I quoted in my previous text are God's words, not mine. I can only resolve to pray for you my dear sister because only God can help you. I will always gladly answer your questions on Bible topics. Please understand that the more we truly understand God's word, the more we're responsible to obey it (James 1:21-22). Next to John 3:16, the key verse on love is Matt. 22:37-40.

Question: Can you ever love God enough to really love despicable white and black people? Jesus does. He loves us with our despicable attitudes and ways. We should respond to that by loving Jesus first and all others, whoever, second. Scripture says, "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom. 5:8). He died for lynchings, burnings, rapes, etc. He also died for gang killings, wife bearings, adulteries, incest, rioting, lying, etc. The list can go on and on. Since Christ died for all those sins before sinners (like you and me) were saved, as the Apostle wrote, "Who will bring charges against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, but rather, was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us"(Romans 8:33-34). So, white folks who trust Christ have been forgiven just as you have. Sin is not skin-color-coded nor is salvation. I'm definitely not attacking you because I love you as my sister-in-Christ. I hope the Holy Spirit cracks and pulverize that rock of resentment in your heart toward white people.

As I mentioned before, that makes my heart ache because I know you are better than that. I'm convinced that you know Jesus. Therefore, "Have this attitude in (yourself) which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross"(Philippians 2:5-8)..."Do all things without complaining or arguments; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world’ (Philippians 2:14-15). 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾”

I hope this helps anybody who feels the same as she.
