My Response to a Disgruntled Sister Over President Trump

My Sister, I’ll be happy to give you my reasons for favoring President Trump. However, I’m not sure they will be “light” to you or convince you that Mr. Trump should be President. That’s not my aim anyway. Putting aside his soiled moral and ethical past (no president is without either), he

1. Brought low unemployment at all levels

2. Supports the 1st and 2nd amendments

3. Is Pro Israel, giving them the right to have Jerusalem as their Capital

4. Supports freedom of religious expression

5. Gives more money to historically black colleges

6. Is pro-Merry Christmas

7. Is anti-socialist/communist

8. Strongly advocates National Security (including border patrol)

9. Brought the lowest unemployment rate among Blacks & Hispanics

10. Arranging foreign trade deals that benefit Americans, creating more jobs

11. Is bold enough to stand up to Beltway politicians of both parties who keep the country at a standstill while at the same time lining their pockets with our tax dollars and doing nothing for their constituents but giving them impressive rhetoric and broken promises. Many of them are also immoral and unethical. To hear them makes accusations is a joke!

12. Is also standing up to the biased, deceptive, and hypocritical “fake news.”They are a disgrace to that profession as well as to the country. Forgive me please. Points 11 & 12 got me roused up. That’s why I was reluctant to discuss this, but I want to be transparent as your brother-in-Christ. Again, my sister, I’m not giving these reasons in an attempt to change your mind about the president (that’s the Lord’s job) but only because you asked me to. I really respect your having reasons to be against him. Although we disagree about the president (I’m not a die-hard, by the way, for any politician), I hope our relationship remains cordial and strong. As you know, people have become heated enemies, including believers, over the president (like in Civil War days). But, I’m not on the warpath. I prefer praying for the church, preachers, the president, and our country. I try to maintain a worldview rooted in Scripture. When it pertains to government, I concur with 1 Tim. 2:1-6. Blessings to you my dear sister. I hope you have a blessed Christmas celebration.
