My Prayer For Tony Evans

Lois Evans, wife of Tony, went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2019. My heartfelt a heaviness for Tony and his family as my mind instantly flashed back to my experience of caring for my previous wife, Deborah, who after one week in hospice at home went to be with the Lord Feb. 2, 2007. The emptiness and heavy grief was overwhelming. If it weren’t for the Lord, His Word, and the fervent prayers of the saints, I don’t see how I could have avoided drifting from my close walk with the Lord. Of course, I had to be determined to stay steadfastly committed to Him, especially when I was alone and very well aware that I could sin without any human knowing it. But, as much as possible, my focus was on the Lord, my constant prayer was “Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer” (Psalm 19:13-14). I praise God for hearing and answering my prayers. He still is. So, I pray this for Tony at this grievous time in his life. Whereas I and Deborah were married 34 years, Tony and Lois 50 years. For whatever reason, God saw fit to take our wives (His daughters). I hope Tony moves on with fun and pleasant memories of his “queen” and continue to let the Lord use him for His glory. That’s my prayer for him.

Blessings!
