Jesus, Keep Me Near The Cross

Devotion of the day:

The words of a well-known hymn came to my mind this morning: “Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross.” Then I thought, “That is my prayer. I often need to be reminded of Jesus’ cross.” It’s called a “precious fountain” from where a free healing stream (forgiveness of and cleansing from sin) is available to all who believe. It “flows from Calvary’s mountain.” Another song says,

“It reaches to the highest mountain” (never too high for it), “and it flows through the lowest valleys” (never too low for it). What is “it?” Cleansing by the blood of Jesus (nothing but the blood of Jesus) which “makes us white as snow.” It gives us strength from day to day and “will never lose its power.” I thank God for these songs that reminds us of what Jesus accomplished on the cross at Calvary. Blessings!
