Immorality is Never Acceptable

A sister-in-Christ has a friend named Bobby who saw nothing wrong with supporting a same-sex, pro-abortion, and socialistic candidate who was running for president. He justified it by saying that he knows adulterous preachers and pastors. She, without mentioning political issues, kindly reasoned with him and shared scripturally-based teachings on basic morality.

The following is my response to her:“Thanks for helping Bobby to face the truth. He rightly sees the wrongness of pastors/preachers committing adultery but apparently ignores it regarding same/sex relationships. Both are immoral, and in God’s eyes merits the death penalty (Num. 20:10, 13; Deut. 22:22). In that sense, both sins are also comparable. Just think if that law was implemented in America, Canada, South America, Europe, and the Far East today. Even female fornicators merit the death penalty if they get married without telling their husbands that they have no virginity (Deut. 22:13-32). WHAT!? What about male fornicators? Well, they were obligated to marry the female unless her father objected to it (Exodus 22:16-17; Deut. 22:28-29). Bottom line, sexual relationships, though pleasurable, carry heavy responsibilities before God. Violations are never without bad consequences. All of us, single and married, need to take heed.”My frequent prayer is “… Acquit (or cleanse) me of hidden (ignorant) faults (sins). Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous (inclined-to-do) sins; Let them not rule (have control) over me; Then I will be blameless, And I shall be acquitted (innocent) of great transgression (willfully/blatantly sinning). Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:12-14). Do you ever feel the need to sincerely make that prayer of King David your prayer? Be assured that God will hear, honor, and answer it. Blessings!
