It’s important to stay mindful of that, especially during these turbulent times. My Christian worldview is based on and rooted in Scripture because it is what God says and thus absolute truth (John 17:17; Titus 1:2; Heb. 6:18). Therefore, I interpret history accordingly. The current turmoil in America cannot be divorced from its internal history, starting with the Revolutionary War (1775-1783), the Civil War (1861-1865), the Great Depression (1929-1933), and the pandemonium of the middle and late 1960s. During the intervals, 8 presidents died in office (from Harrison [1841] to JFK [1963]) and three have been impeached (Andrew Johnson [1868], Clinton [1998], and Trump [2020]. Much more can be noted, but the question is, “Has God been in control of America?” I believe God’s answer to His children is, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:10). That includes during the current maelstrom over the recent election process. Let’s not forget to pray, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). Remember, God still reigns from heaven.
Blessings!
