God’s Commandments

There are 613 commandments. Most folks are familiar with only 10 (Exodus 20:4-18).Question: Regardless of how many, who has kept all of them? If one is broken, then all are broken (James 2:10). Also, when they are broken, the result is a curse (Galatians 3:10). The following are indictments against humanity: There is none righteous – Rom. 3:19All have sinned – Rom. 3:23 There is no fear (reverence) of God Rom. 3:18. If the question we’re asked, “Can anyone claim to be sinless?” Every mouth would “shut up” (Rom. 3:19). “No” would be true; “Yes” would be false. So, what’s the best response?

(1) Repentance (agreeing with God that sin is disobeying Him),

(2) Believe Jesus made Himself sin for you (2 Cor. 5:21) and a curse when He died on the cross (Gal. 3:13),

(3) Believe Jesus arose from the dead(1 Cor. 15:3-4).

Then, you are no longer under the 613 laws by which you were condemned (Rom. 8:1-4). You are now dead to sin (Rom. 6:11) and freed from sin (Rom. 6:18). You (we) still struggle with your (our) sinful flesh (Rom. 7:25; Gal. 5:16-17). Thankfully, God is working in you (us) to fulfill His good pleasure of making us more like Jesus until the day He Redeems from this world (Phil. 1:6; 2:13; 3:20-21). Therefore, the 10 Commandments don’t consist of good news for us, but the Gospel does! Glory Hallelujah!

Blessings!
