God Opens Hearts

God Opens Hearts

All lost people need the gospel, regardless of their lifestyle. The best we can do is pray for them and be an example to them by living a godly lifestyle. We can love them as God does and ever be mindful that it’s not our love that will save them. Not even God’s love will save them. John 3:16 says “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,” not that He automatically saved us. The requirement is “whosoever believes” in Christ shall have everlasting life which is given to us by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). Thus, no one deserves salvation, but thank God that He freely gives it to all who sincerely believe in Christ’s death for our sins and His resurrection from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). As we live for Christ and tell our unsaved relatives and associates about the gospel, we should pray that God do to them what He did for Lydia. Acts 16:14 says, “A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God (though still unsaved) was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul.” Notice, she was “listening” (not resisting) to “the things (the gospel) spoken by Paul.” Scripture says faith comes by hearing…the Word of God (Rom. 10:17). Then, her heart was opened by the Lord to respond. So, as we sow the Word to sinners of all stripes, we must also pray that God opens their hearts to believe the gospel. I sincerely believe our loving and gracious God will do what only He can do. Some will believe and some still won’t. So, keep praying and witnessing and leave the results to God. Blessings!
