Explaining the Gospel

The scriptures generally used to help an unsaved person understand how to get saved are the following:

John 3:16; Rom. 5:8 – God truly loves sinners

Rom. 3:23 – Everyone has sinned against God

Rom. 5:12; 6:23 – Sin’s punishment Is death

Eph. 2:8-9 – God saves sinners by His grace (undeserved Favor) without works (no effort is required on the sinner’s part)

Rom. 1:16; 1 Cor. 15:1-4 – The sinner must believe the gospel after he/she hears it

Rom. 10:9, 17; Eph. 1:13)This next one follows faith in Christ:

Matt. 28:19 – The new Christian should get baptized, not to be saved, but in obedience to Christ to publicly demonstrate his faith. He should also understand Communion and start taking It.

Many other scriptures can be used. These are not set in stone but can be used to clearly explain the gospel of salvation. All of the passages may not be mentioned but the Holy Spirit can use the least amount of the Word to open a sinner’s heart to believe in Jesus (Acts 16:30-31).

Blessings!
