Be Free From Doubt

A dear sister has been attending a church for two years but hasn’t joined. She asked me, “Am I trying to be more righteous by waiting? My heart is not feeling it yet.” She’s undecided about joining.

My response:

Good afternoon my sister, Do nothing with doubt in your mind (Rom. 14:22-23). I have been going to a good church on Sunday for three years without joining it, and I teach there regularly. I attend a Messianic Jewish (saved Jews) congregation on Saturdays where I'm a member. More Gentiles (multi-ethic) go there than Messianic Jews. Why am I there? Because my conscience is clear, and over time God has confirmed that I'm where He wants me to be. I lead the men's ministry and home group studies there. As far as righteousness is concerned, I have that (and so do you) wherever and whenever I attend church. You can't be "more righteous" whatever you decide to do or not do because the righteousness you have is from Christ and thus complete

and permanent (2 Cor. 5:21; Phil. 3:9). Read Rom. 14 to free your thinking from doubt and unnecessary guilt feelings.

Blessings!
